Solution:

The current communications system has no way to measure the number of incidents, the response times to incidents and the resolve time. Implementing single push button call stations input modules automatically captures and records the number of incidents, the response times and time to resolve each incident.

Results:

The production floor experiences an average of 15 production disruptions per shift with 2 shifts or 30 disruptions per day. The estimated average response time prior to the VersaCall System implementation was 12 minutes per incident or loss of production time of 360 minutes [ 6 production hours a day] . After the implementation of the VersaCall System the response times was reduced to 3 minutes or a reduced loss of production time of 90 minutes [ 1. 5 hours]. The VersaCall System resulted in a pickup of production hours of 4.5 hours a day and 22.5 hours a week.

With each workstation working on different Part Numbers which have separate bill of materials and builds. There was no automatic way to pass the bill of materials and the build instructions to the workstations. The implementation of the VersaCall VT3000 System with wireless touch screens at each of the workstations provide the operators both the build instructions and the build of materials. The overall experience has been very well. We're still at initial stages of digitizing the factory floor and a software like this really helps initiate the data collection and impactful process improvements. The software if used accurately can be used for multiple functionalities which is very useful. It surfaces the issues on the production floor, reports it and collects data which can be used to monitor and improve processes.

The system and support has been great. Our company has a very intricate vetting process and they stuck with me thru all the necessary approvals and obstacles. I think a on-site walk thru may have helped at the onset to find possible issues (especially considering how many we were installing and the size of our facility, obstacles on the floor, etc). It was a very affordable option and the customer service has been amazing. We have over 100 units and they didn't quit improving the system until everything was working 100%.
